Warwick Highway Weekly Log Jan. 14 - 20, 2008 Mon. Jan. 14 * Called all personnel at midnight to get ready for snow storm - began sanding paved roads at 2 A.M. - called in private contractors and began plowing at 4:30 A.M. and plowed routes 3 times - began re-sanding all roads 2:45 P.M. - went home at 6:30 P.M. Tues. Jan. 15 * Scraped various roads that had snow fallen from trees or slush * Picked up Flower Hill Rd. sign on Rt. 78 that was run over by unknown vehicle * Sanded all roads due to slippery conditions * Crushed dumpsters at landfill * Checked hazardous waste area for leaks finding none * Went to Salvadore's to have problem with 1-ton looked at - repaired at their expense as it was their fault * Met with salesman on heavy equipment tires * Worked on making wiring and lighting repairs to truck # 3 and washed sander Wed. Jan. 16 * Finished making repairs to truck # 3 * Made some minor repairs to truck # 2 * Washed truck # 2 sander and truck # 4 * Greased loader * Met with Jim Toth on highway issues * Finished preparing budget request for Finance meeting tonight * Went to finance committee meeting and went over budget requests Thurs. Jan. 17 * Changed cutting edges on truck #2 and #4 * Cleaned out fins on loader radiator and oil cooler * Flipped chipper knives * Called all personnel in at 10:30 P.M. to sand all paved roads - continued into Friday Fri. Jan. 18 * Called in private contractors and began plowing at 2:30 A.M. - began sanding dirt roads at 7:30 A.M. and did them twice due to 3-4" snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain Sat. Jan. 19 * Received call from Shelburne Control at 3:30 P.M. that Fire Dept. was requesting sand on Northfield Rd. due to icy spots - went home at 5:30 P.M. Sun. Jan. 20 * Received call from Police Chief Peters at 4:45 P.M. that we needed to sand a couple of icy spots on Northfield Rd. - went home at 6:00 P.M.
