Feb. 4 - 10, 2008

Mon. Feb. 4
* Sanded all dirt roads due to icy conditions
* Checked hazardous waste area for leaks finding none
* Crushed dumpsters at landfill
* Changed cutting edge on truck # 3 plow
* Cut down tree that was damaged in accident
on Fri. on Hasting Heights Rd.
* T & R Custom came to look at loader due to
transmission overheating - made temporary
repairs until replacement part arrives

Tues. Feb. 5
* All personnel came in to sand paved roads at
midnight due to light snow that changed to freezing
rain and rain - sanded dirt roads at 4 A.M.
- re-sanded dirt roads after lunch - went home
at 2:45 P.M.
* Scraped off slush on main roads
* Received call from Shelburne Control that Police
Chief is reporting water build up on bridge over 
Orcutt Brook on Orange Rd. - several water issues
were taken care of throughout town
* Moved wood chunks that Lewis Tree cut up that
rolled into road on Old Winchester Rd.

Wed. Feb. 6
* Sanded all dirt roads due to continued
rain - re-sanded Old Winchester Rd. and 
Robbins Rd. due to bus getting stuck
* Re-scraped various roads in town to get
ice off roads
* Went around town with loader getting water
areas drained
* Met with Jim Toth to go over highway issues
* Re-sanded dirt roads after lunch due to continued rain
* Called all personnel in for 7 P.M. to be ready for
ice, sleet and snow storm

Thurs. Feb. 7
* Started sanding paved roads at 12:30 A.M. when
heavy rain and thunderstorms switched to heavy
sleet - began plowing main roads at 4 A.M. - called
in private contractors at 5:45 A.M. - began re-sanding
all roads at 7:30 A.M. - began re-plowing paved roads 
at 12:30 p.m. - went home at 3:30 P.M.

Fri. Feb. 8
* All personnel came in at 3 A.M. to sand all 
roads due to dusting of snow
* Repaired truck # 2 plow that had minor damage
from storm
* Went to Pete's Tire to have truck tire repaired
and got other supplies while in Orange
* Washed out sanders and greased them
* Tightened chain on truck # 2 sander
* Scraped off various roads in town with 1-Ton
* Made minor wiring repairs to truck # 3

Sat. Feb. 9
* Called in personnel at 3 P.M. to begin sanding
paved roads - called in private contractors and began
plowing at 8:15 P.M. - began sanding all roads at
12:30 A.M. - went home at 4:15 A.M. on Sun. - 4"
heavy, wet snow

Sun. Feb. 10
* Called in personnel at 4 P.M. to get plows ready to 
clean up roads after snow squalls - called in private
contractors at 5:15 P.M. and began plowing - began 
sanding all roads at 9 P.M. - went home at 1 A.M. 
on Mon. - 1" snow
