Jan. 28 * Sanded all dirt roads due to icy conditions * Checked hazardous waste area for leaks finding none * Crushed dumpsters at landfill * Checked on new driveway permit on White Rd. * Received call on a downed tree on Orange Rd. - cleaned up tree * Cleaned out fins in oil cooler on loader * Removed link out of sander chain on truck # 3 Tues. Jan. 29 * Tim was at Baystate Roads class all day * Replaced fuel sending unit in loader * Cut up tree that fell on edge of Northfield Rd. * Did pole saw cutting on Winchester Rd. Wed. Jan. 30 * Called in personnel at 3 A.M. to sand all roads due to freezing rain and rain * Repaired minor electrical problems with Truck # 2 sander * Met Jim Toth to go over highway issues * Re-sanded all dirt roads after lunch due to continued rain - went home at 2:45 P.M. * Picked up couch and broken glass near House # 570 Orange Rd. * Received call from Shelburne Control at 7:30 P.M. that Police were requesting sand on Robbins Rd. due to accident - called in 1 guy to sand and check for other icy spots - went home at 9 P.M. Thurs. Jan. 31 * Finished cutting brush on Winchester Rd. to Robbins Rd. and began cutting brush on Orange Rd. Fri. Feb. 1 * Prepared trucks for impending ice storm today * Began sanding roads at 11:30 A.M. - began re-sanding paved roads at 4:15 P.M. - sleet switched to freezing rain and rain at 5 P.M. - began plowing roads at 10 P.M. - called in private contractors at 11:30 P.M. - began re-sanding all roads at 2:45 A.M. - went home at 7:30 A.M. Sat. morning - sleet to freezing rain to rain Sat. Feb. 2 * Received call from Shelburne Control at 9 P.M. about Northfield Rd. being icy - called in personnel to sand all paved roads due to icy conditions
