Warwick Highway Weekly Log Feb. 28 - Mar. 6, 2011 Mon. Feb. 28 Sanded all roads due to freezing rain and rain - began scraping off all paved roads at 11 A.M. - called in private contractors at 12 P.M. to assist with plowing - re-sanded all roads due to icy conditions - went home at 4:30 P.M. Tues. Mar. 1 Cleared intersections and dealt with standing water issues Crushed dumpsters in transfer station and readied demo box for removal Spot sanded all roads due to slippery conditions Installed temporary mailbox at town hall Went to Greenfield and Whateley for parts Wed. Mar. 2 Continued clearing intersections around town Washed both sand trucks Worked on maintenance repairs to Backhoe Met with David Young and Dawn Magi on highway issues Received call from Shelburne Control at 5 P.M. about tree in road on Northfield Rd. - called in personnel to remove tree - assisted by Warwick Police Thurs. Mar. 3 Sanded all dirt roads due to slippery conditions Broke passenger mirror on truck # 3 on low hanging branch on Gale Rd. - replaced damaged mirror Replaced rear-end fluid in Backhoe Keith Lyman came up to go over and answer any questions on the Backhoe we bought from him Replaced left hydraulic piston on plow # 4 and re-built old piston and put on shelf as a spare Fri. Mar. 4 Met with salesman to purchase oil products Posted weight limits on all dirt roads Finished clearing snow at intersections and cleaned up snow in village center
